A man accused of the murder of his dad during a domestic disturbance was found not guilty on the grounds of insanity.
Colin Neil, from Timperley, was accused of the murder of John Neil in the incident over a year ago on Riddings Road.
On Friday, after a trial at Manchester Crown Court, Colin Neil was found not guilty on the grounds of insanity.
The implication is the jury was convinced he committed the killing but he was insane at the time he committed the killing.
He is at Ashworth Hospital, a high-security hospital in Maghull, Merseyside, for a hearing on a hospital order next month.
