Altrincham's J Davidson Stadium is on a list to receive an electrical vehicle charging point as part of a new agreement.

UK-based electric vehicle (EV) charge point operator Zapgo has announced a landmark agreement with Fair Game, bringing reliable EV charging to 33 football clubs across England.

This list includes Altrincham FC, which is based at the Moss Lane stadium.

The partnership, announced on August 21, positions Zapgo as the exclusive EV charge point provider for the member clubs of Fair Game, an organisation dedicated to positively transforming football from the grassroots up.

The installation of Zapgo's EV charging hubs at club stadiums and training grounds offers a constant source of revenue for the clubs, ensuring they can continue to thrive and serve their communities.

Partnerships and marketing director of Zapgo, Dee Humphries said: "Signing our first commercial agreement with Fair Game, an organisation which proudly shares our commitment to sustainability and community, marks a significant milestone for Zapgo.

"This strategic partnership positions Zapgo well to capitalise on opportunities for further growth as we seek to introduce our rapid EV charging solutions to 33 football clubs across England.

"This expansion represents a key step in strengthening our growing role in the EV charging sector and we are proud to support grassroots football in communities underserved by existing charging infrastructure."

Niall Couper, chief executive of Fair Game, said: "We are delighted to work with Zapgo on providing football clubs with a supplementary revenue stream in addition to providing local communities with vital infrastructure as the economy transitions to green energy.

"Zapgo’s principles of focusing on the local community with a sustainable approach to business made them a natural partnering opportunity which will benefit Fair Game member clubs."

This partnership will range from clubs such as AFC Wimbledon and Bristol Rovers, to FC United Women, and Worcester City.

Zapgo is now set to begin discussing the specifics of the implementation with each club.
