Plans to convert a 1970s-built office block in Sale into 79 apartments has been submitted to Trafford’s planners.
Sale Point is a partially-occupied six-storey building and has undergone several extensions, the last of which was in 2008.It currently covers 50,000sq ft.
The remaining tenants of the building are due to vacate the building in 2025, says a design and access statement submitted on behalf of developer Blueoak Estates Ltd by Pritchard Architectural Design.
“Our proposal is to convert the building to deliver a total of 79 apartments with a mix of one and two-bedrooms,” it says.
“No changes to the external appearance of the building are proposed. A full planning application for changes to the existing windows, the removal of some plant and a limited number of new windows is also being submitted.”
Blueoak says it has a ‘strong track record’ of delivering similar schemes in Trafford and the wider North West region.
The site is on the A56 Washway Road, one of the main arterial routes connecting Manchester city centre to Altrincham.
“Sale town centre with all its amenities is 800 metres north west of the site,” the statement says. “It benefits from excellent connectivity to public transport systems, pedestrian and cycle routs and the local and national highway network. “
