A woman from Urmston has expressed her annoyance after a BT wire was installed across her windows.
Janet Owen, 68, said that she believes the wire 'can't be more than a metre away' from her home and is worried that it will hit her home during strong winds.
The wire has been installed to service the property next to Janet's home.
A spokesperson for BT said: "An engineer will visit the property to check the positioning of the overhead cable and, if incorrectly positioned, will arrange for it to be moved as quickly as possible."
Living on Stroma Gardens, in Urmston, Janet said she has a good relationship with all of her neighbours and when she asked her next door neighbour who had installed the wire, she says she was told it was BT.
Janet had been away from home with her husband when she returned to find the wire and said: "I was absolutely livid wild yesterday.
"What I've done so far, but don't want to keep doing, is been to see my neighbour next door and said that I don't find it acceptable.
"She said that BT originally told her the wire would be installed around the back, which wouldn't have bothered me as we only use our back room for storage.
"But the wire cuts straight across our front bedroom window.
"None of the other wires [on the street] seem to get in the way of people's views, but what upsets me is that someone's put a wire on my property, albeit in the air, and probably no more than a metre from the window.
"I don't think it's acceptable to have to put up with this or to keep asking my neighbour to ask BT."
