Trafford is to remember the sacrifices of its servicemen and its servicewomen at services across the area on Remembrance Sunday.

The services allow residents to remember those who lost their lives in the two World Wars as well as in a number of other conflicts.

The Mayor of Trafford, Amy Whyte, is to attend the event in Altrincham which is in the Garden of Remembrance opposite St Margaret's Church.

It is possible to attend other events in Bowdon, Hale, Hale Barns, Partington, Sale, Stretford and Urmston throughout the day on November 10.

The Mayor of Trafford, Cllr Whyte, said: "I am calling on everyone in Trafford to make it to a service if they can."

The event in Stretford was due to change with a parade starting at Stretford Sports Village rather than a parade starting at Metro's Sports and Social Club as is tradition due to the clash between Manchester United v Leicester City at 2pm on the same day.

However after communication between the council, the club and the police the parade is starting at Metro's Sports and Social Club as usual.
