A multi-million-pound plan for almost 150 homes in the borough is back on the cards after a previous plan for the same site was withdrawn.

A partnership of the council and the housing association L&Q is applying for planning permission for the site on Bold Street in Old Trafford.

The partnership, Homes for Trafford, applied for planning permission two years ago but a previous plan for the same site, once some high-rise towers and the Seahawk Pub, was withdrawn.

There are alterations including the number of homes, 15 fewer than before, and the proportion of affordable homes, up from around 30 per cent "affordable" to around 50 per cent "affordable".

There is a range of sizes and styles of accommodation available for rent and for sale from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom houses.

James Wright, Trafford Council's Executive Member for Housing, said: "This particular proposal is a much needed boost to assist us with the housing crisis in Trafford.

"Trafford Council prides itself on working with partners to provide new, affordable homes across our borough."

As one of the applicants is the council the application is to go to the council's Planning Committee. If approved the aim is for residents to arrive from 2026.

The architects are Levitt Bernstein and the consultants include Civic Engineers, Euan Kellie Property Solutions, Wilkinson Cowan Partnership and Lucion.
