Outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse is set to open its new 15,000sq ft store in Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter – its first in Greater Manchester.
Bosses say the store which opens on Saturday (November 9) will create 13 new jobs. Spread over two floors, it will stock clothing for men women and children, footwear and outdoor equipment.
Waterproof jackets, walking boots, and everything families need for their next outdoor adventure will also feature. The store’s landlord is property provider Bruntwood. Its head of retail and leisure James Tootle said: “The new store will be the brand’s first in Greater Manchester and is set to attract visitors from the local community and further afield.
“We want to extend a warm welcome to the team and are looking forward to the doors opening on November 9.
“As we head into the winter months it’s the perfect place to stock up on seasonal clothing and is a great addition to our vibrant mix of independent and national retail and hospitality brands already located in the Stamford Quarter.”
Mountain Warehouse founder and chief executive Mark Neale said: “We’re delighted to be opening our first store in Greater Manchester, and excited to share our passion for adventure and great value outdoor gear for all the family, even the dog.”
Trafford council’s executive member for economy and regeneration Cllr Liz Patel also hailed the opening.
She said: “I’m thrilled Mountain Warehouse, another high-profile business, has chosen Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter as their new home. Mountain Warehouse joins the growing roster of businesses taking up residence in the Stamford Quarter, joining names like Lane 7, Starbucks and Nell’s Pizza.
“The range of businesses in the area makes it a dynamic retail and leisure hub to be enjoyed by visitors and residents of Altrincham alike. If you haven’t popped down to the Stamford Quarter yet, do make sure you check it out.”
It joins the Stamford Quarter’s burgeoning community of independent stores and brands including Parasol, Utility, Holland Barrett, Gift & Home, Next, Boots, Flannels, Sostrene Grene and Nationwide.
