Altrincham has "turned blue" this month to support men's health.

The annual campaign, Paint Altrincham Blue, aims to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer, as well as men's mental health, while fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK and Andy’s Man Club.

The scheme, which runs from November 4 to November 17, encourages businesses and the community to get involved by decorating their windows in blue, dressing in blue, and hosting blue-themed activities such as bake sales and cocktail events.

Tony Collier, who was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, explained why the initiative is so important to him.

He said: "Raising awareness about prostate and testicular cancer is crucial.

"Early detection saves lives, but many men don’t know the signs, or there often are no signs.

"Having been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, I know firsthand how vital it is to encourage men to speak up and seek help.

"Paint Altrincham Blue brings our community together for a cause that can change lives, and I’m incredibly proud to see how much it’s grown."

Businesses are also encouraged to contribute by donating items for a raffle at the comedy night.

This is a chance for the community to 'come together, have fun, and raise much-needed awareness and funds.'
