The Great British Bake Off has opened applications for its next series.
The popular baking contest is seeking 'home bakers' to enter the tent in 2025 for its 16th series.
With series 15 judged by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, and presented by Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond, hopefuls now have the chance to become the next 'star baker.'
However, to be eligible, applicants must be UK residents aged 16 or older on January 1, 2025.
Those interested can find the full rules and entry details on the official website, www.applyforbakeoff.co.uk.
The show looks for more than just 'cake bakers', so having a 'broad baking repertoire' including bread, biscuits, and pastries is advantageous.
However, potential contestants should not feel discouraged if they haven’t made every type of bake before.
The environment in the tent is 'supportive', and many past contestants have spoken about the lessons they learned during the process.
To stand out from the crowd, applicants are encouraged to provide as much information as possible in their applications, including their unique baking style and standout creations.
Photos or videos of past bakes are highly recommended, as they showcase the applicant’s skills.
The deadline for all applications is Monday, December 9, 2024, at 1pm.
Interested bakers are advised to take their time with the application and not leave it until the last minute.
All applicants who are successful in moving to the next stage will be contacted by a member of the casting team.
If applicants have not heard from the casting team by Friday, February 14, 2025, it means their application has not been successful this time.
Previous applicants who were not successful in the past are also welcome to attempt the application process again.
A 'love and passion for baking' is the most important quality the show is looking for.
Those who think they have what it takes to be a part of the next season of The Great British Bake Off are encouraged to apply.
