A former property director has launched a new business in Altrincham.

Trevor Adey has started Placekeeper with a focus on estate and block management throughout the north of England.

The company aims to challenge the conventional approach to property management by providing residential services for the residents and communities they serve.

After 20 years at Savills and other consultancies, Mr Adey gained experience in the housing, development, and planning sectors, and spent six years at national open space charity, the Land Trust.

He was responsible for establishing service charge funded estate management schemes on large scale urban extensions and garden villages across the country.

Mr Adey said: "There is widespread evidence that homeowners suffer a lot from poor service and disproportionate pricing in the estate and block management sector.

"At Placekeeper, we believe there is a huge market opportunity for us to come in and deliver a great quality, ethical, and trusted service for homeowners and developers."

Mr Adey expressed frustration at seeing developments neglected after completion due to poor stewardship.

"It has long been a frustration of mine though to see some of these developments neglected after completion through poor stewardship.

"Placekeeping for us is about ending the traditional pattern where developments only look amazing until the final plot is sold.

"Instead, we’ll be injecting a bit of pride, care and working hard with our resident customers to improve the places we manage over time."

The company is already managing several existing housing estates and apartment schemes and plans to work closely with developers on new opportunities for 2025.
