Congratulations to our schools who have again put Trafford at the top educationally. Results out show Trafford is now top in mainland Britain for GCSE or equivalent results. 74 per cent of our pupils achieved five or more A*-C grades (an increase of 4 per cent on 2006 results) and 61 per cent have achieved five or more A*-C grades including English and mathematics. Trafford is also in the top ten for A level results.

Are you feeling run-down after the holidays? Come along to the health fairs at our next round of neighbourhood forums and pick up tips about a healthier lifestyle.

More than 15 different experts will be at the events with information on everything from exercise and fitness, mental health, healthy eating, drugs and alcohol abuse to advice for all ages.

The health fairs will offer body MOTs and blood pressure checks and all visitors can pick up a free one-day pass to their local leisure centre and a free cyclometer to measure how far you've cycled.

The health fairs start at 6pm during the regular open forum, which gives residents that chance to raise local issues with council staff and representatives from partner organisations. From 7pm-8pm, there will be a discussion relevant to your local community.
