PEOPLE who are going on holiday and leaving their pets to be looked after by relatives or friends should make sure their animals are fitted with temporary identity tags.
These should bear the contact details of their temporary carers, making it easier for animal welfare workers to re-unite cats and dogs with these people if they go missing.
That’s the message from Petline organiser Chris Butterworth who says Trafford’s animal sanctuaries are still struggling to cope with the numbers of missing and abandoned creatures roaming the borough’s streets.
On a different note, one cat and two dogs have been re-united with their relieved owners.
