SALE will soon be boosted by the arrival of Peacocks, the clothing retailer, and the relocation of Wilkinsons and Quality Save to new enlarged stores.
Warner Estate Holdings, the London based owner of the Square shopping centre, has started a major £6m redevelopment scheme. It has plans to attract other top national retailers to the 200,000 sq ft (18,580 sq m) shopping centre.
Upon completion, Warner Estate will have extended the shopping centre by over one third, adding 64,500 sq ft (5,992 sq m) of new space, provided new entrance features and replaced the canopies within the centre.
James Ward, asset manager of Warner Estate, said: "We are delighted to have signed up major retailers such as Wilkinsons, Peacocks and Quality Save. It confirms our belief in the area.
"We have an ambitious refurbishment programme planned for The Square. We are preparing to create a number of new large units at the centre. As part of our programme we are relocating some of the existing tenants while work is underway."
Warner Estate has also let eight smaller units to retailers.
