ALTRINCHAM Aces won their first game in Blackburn for some time as they beat the Hawks 4-2 following last week's home win.
Aces took an early lead when Steve Daly set up Dave Meikle and the youngster put it confidently into the top corner.
Penalties disrupted the flow of play but the Aces capitalised on their superiority with Greg Allen sliding the puck inside the post later in the period.
Russ Richardson was then sent off for a trivial offence (the same referee has now ejected him four times in four games) just before the period end.
Hawks pulled one back with a deflected shot early in the second period as the game got a bit niggly.
Aces restored their two goal cushion four seconds before the buzzer, as Greg Allen skated into space and converted.
Hawks came back again with a powerplay goal in the final period but Aces went back down the ice for Billy Price to score.
Aces had a few worrying moments but goalie Phil Verstappen dealt with all threats and saw Aces home to their victory.
Aces take on unbeaten League leaders, Sheffield, away on Sunday night.
