ALTRINCHAM kept their third clean sheet in a row on Tuesday when they played host to Burscough at Moss Lane.
The visitors arrived hoping to keep their unbeaten run intact and did just that as they grabbed a goalless draw.
Alty started promisingly as they aimed to keep their mini-revival going following three straight defeats at the start of the Unibond Premier campaign
A draw was probably a fair result as Burscough - managed by former Aston Villa centre half Shaun Teale - came into the game in fourth place in the fledgling table.
The first half was marred for Alty by an injury to Andy McDonald after only eight minutes.
He had to be stretchered off with what looked like an ankle injury following a foul by Burscough's Bowen.
It was a game of few chances as the scoreline suggests though Saturday's two goal hero Rod Thornley missed the best chance of the game after 82 minutes.
He blasted over the bar from a headed lay-off by the impressive substitute debutant Adewale Ajetunmobe.
The pacy Nigerian striker has played for Queens Park and Hamilton Academicals in Scotland, as well as Chester City and Hednesford Town and has been on trial at Moss Lane after previously training with Lancaster City.
Neil Murphy was named as man of the match. Alty drop to 16th but are making steady progress after a poor start to the campaign.
The next match for Robins sees them entertain Hyde United this Saturday, September 7, at Moss Lane, kick off 3pm.
Altrincham's Cheshire Senior Cup match away at Crewe Alexandra has also now been set for Wednesday, September, 18 at 7.45pm. This is a re-run of last year's final which Crewe won.
