Poor Britney Spears, nothing seems to be going right for the pop Diva at the moment.
No boyfriend, no new single and now no style.
And the transformation of Britney Spears has been incredible. In this year alone she has gone from everyone's ideal pin up to butt of everyone's jokes, and it all seems to stem from her break up with Justin Timberlake.
The year started badly for her when she was booed by her fans after keeping them waiting outside her film premier before charging inside without so much as a nod in their direction.
Then later, she denied for weeks after her split up with Justin Timberlake that there wasn't any problem in the Spears-Timberlake homestead, but the ignominy of being dumped by the love of her life cannot compare to the shame of reading in tabloid papers around the world that Justin is now offering to help Janet Jackson in her quest to have children.
So it is hardly surprising that the pop princess who was catapulted to stardom when she dressed in her school uniform, put her hair in pigtails and jumped around a school corridor has decided to take a break from being famous.
But in the wake of her announcement that she wants time out of the limelight, she seems to have lost all her credibility.
Just this week she has been voted the worst dressed star, beating Madonna to the undesirable title and last week she came out and finally admitted that she smoked, drank alcohol and had had sex. But she didn't see what the big deal was.
Apart from the small fact that drinking before the age of 21 is illegal in most US states, Ms Spears fervently portrayed herself as the clean living innocent teen that all young girls should aspire to be. So yes, it is a big deal.
We all remember her firmly stating she would wait until she was married before having sex, but it seems that was all talk and she has done a bit more than just talking with former beau Justin Timberlake.
Part of me does feel sorry for her, but that is just a small part of me.
Ms Spears will have to learn that in her position she has to be seen to be doing exactly what she says she is doing.
Let's hope that in the six-month break she is taking, she takes time to mature as well as age.
