LAST week you published an irate letter from a lady who feels she was let down by Stretford councillors who promised action from a roving surgery.
I am extremely sorry that this lady has had no response to her query.
I have contacted her and am following up the concern in order to ensure some action, although it would have been easier if she had contacted me directly rather than through the letters page of your newspaper.
In Stretford we do regular roving surgeries. I can assure readers that they are not an election ploy as they happen throughout the year, and they are a genuine attempt to make services of the local council more accessible to people on a regular basis.
We do also hold regular library surgeries, and of course are contactable by telephone and e-mail as well.
A large part of the difficulty is that unless I hear to the contrary, I believe that an enquiry is being dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
It is a privilege to represent Stretford, and I continue to do so as well as I can.
Cllr, Mrs B E Garlick, Executive Member for Economic Development and Strategic Planning, Labour Councillor for Stretford Ward
