A CARETAKER has retired from the school he kept spic and span for 36 years.
Hard working Roy Millward has not had a day off work since he started work at Partington Primary School in 1966.
Former Merchant Navyman Roy, aged 70, has served four headteachers and seen his own children progress through the school.
Current headteacher Linda Pickwell said: "He is an absolute stalwart and is always there for the children and staff.
"All our Ofsted inspections have mentioned the cleanliness and upkeep of the school and it is something that is often commented on by visitors."
