ON your next visit to Manchester, if you have time to spare - or better still make a special visit - make a point of going to see the Greater Manchester Police Museum.
It is a real time capsule not to be missed.
At the October meeting the curator of the Museum gave the Catholic Women's League members an entertaining glimpse into the life of crime in the Victorian era.
The museum is staffed by volunteer retired officers who will tell you of the Victorian police who worked seven days a week, wore their uniform all the time and had five days holiday a year!
They learned much more and enjoyed the many slides of the Museum, the cells and their erstwhile occupants.
It was a very enlightening evening very well presented.
