TRAFFORD Council has its head in the clouds in an effort to improve the borough's air quality.
Areas including Trafford Park, Old Trafford and Stretford, as well as the A56 from Stretford to Timperley and the M60 from Davyhulme to Sale Moor, have been designated as Air Quality Management Areas.
Action plans will look at ways of reducing traffic congestion, the main cause of poor air quality in Greater Man-chester.
Trafford's Renewal and Environmental Protection Man-ager Joe Marriott said: "A list of solutions to the problems is being created for those areas where it could be harmful for people who are sensitive to air pollution, such as the elderly, asthmatics and sufferers of respiratory ailments or heart conditions."
