ALTRINCHAM'S FA Cup heroes have won the UniBond Club of the Month award for October.

It is the second time in a row they have scooped the award, given to the most successful club in the UniBond Premier League.

Star players Mark Sertori, Steve Hawes and Stuart Coburn will receive the award from league secretary Duncan Bayley before Tuesday night's league match against Marine.

Before all that, injury-hit Robins travel to Spalding United's Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field for their FA Trophy first round match.

Manager Bernard Taylor anticipates a tough game in Lincolnshire, and knows that his thin squad will be tested to the full.

Defender Chris Adams definitely misses the game through an ankle injury, while Jason Gallagher's knock keeps him on the bench.

Stuart Locke is also struggling for fitness, while long-term injury doubts include Paul Taylor and Carl Furlong.

The call-offs have forced Taylor to recruit reserves Dave Swannick and Anthony Hargreaves to the first team squad, and it is likely that both will start tomorrow's game.

Speaking exclusively to This is Trafford, the manager said, "We know Spalding are a good side and they will fight hard against us.

"It won't be easy at all, and we simply cannot go down there thinking it will be."

Speaking about his injury worries, he added, "Chris Adams' ankle injury is really bad, the worst I have seen for a while, while Jason Gallagher and Stuart Locke are only managing half a game these days. Also, Kevin Hulme is playing on a knock, and has been for a while."

Late fitness tests mean TayloR cannot name his team until later on tomorrow.
