IN the last year we have written to Trafford Highways Department on two separate occasions.
The first time a letter from us was not responded to.
On the second occasion we objected to the replacement of a traditional lamppost by a modern lamppost out of keeping with all others in the area.
We waited three weeks for a reply.
The reply said, "It is not normal procedure to carry out consultation with residents," and that the replacement does not require the approval of the householder".
So much for Cllr Acton's claim in "Trafford Today" (Sept. 2001) that "The Community strategy is about us listening to local residents.
We want to ensure that local people are involved in decisions about their area"!
