DURING the past few weeks I have read many letters from your readers complaining about car parking fines incurred, particularly in Altrincham.
I am yet another disabled driver to be penalized and feel that we are being "got at"!
I was given a £60 fine for being in the disabled/loading bay in Central Way.
We used to be able to park there without question but now it is between the hours of 9.30am-4.30pm (nobody was loading or unloading).
I had previously tried to park in the disabled parking bay in front of the Town Hall unsuccessfully, due to cars without badges being there.
Market traders use this at times, I fear.
I feel sad to think that I will have to give up shopping in Altrincham as I have enjoyed it for many years.
It is hard enough coming to terms with disablement without obstacles being put in our way.
