REGARDING the recent thread on parking in the borough, I myself was a "victim" of the new regime, however I had no objection to paying as I failed to read the sign correctly.

What I do object to though, is the way that vehicles are taking over the footpaths of the borough. Walk down the A56 from Timperley to Sale on any day of the week and the number of vehicles parked illegally, blocking pavements beggars belief.

In some instances you have to walk on the road, as it's impossible to get past. Some people would rather dump their car on a pavement than walk a few extra yards or pay for parking. It is about time that the police and traffic wardens took action against this increasing menace.
