A FAMILY from Sale say all their holiday memories have been taken after burglars stole their camcorder and videos containing hours of holiday footage.
John McManus bought the camcorder specifically for the holiday of a lifetime in Florida with his wife Wendy and their two children, five year-old Sarah and Siobhan, aged nine.
They came back from their trip in August with many hours of fun activities captured on film. But all their memories disappeared when their house on Walton Road was burgled on Friday.
The only things to be taken were the camcorder and the tapes, but John said the tapes were the only irreplaceable belongings they could have stolen.
He said his daughters were devastated by the theft. He said: "There were eight or nine videos, which covered the whole holiday. They showed the girls meeting the Disney characters in Disneyworld and they had all our memories on them.
"We only took a few photos because we had the camcorder with us. We're trying to explain it to the children. They're asking us what they've done to deserve it."
He said the videos were all clearly labelled, and could have been dumped by the burglars when they realised they were of no value to them. He is offering a reward if the tapes are found.
John can be contacted during the day on 488 2467.
