TRAFFORD charity Hen-shaws Society for Blind People has been highly com-mended in a prestigious national competition to find the best charity internet site of the year.
Henshaws' website earned a place in the final of the 'Charity Times' UK charity awards, which recognise excellence in the voluntary sector.
At an awards ceremony in London, Henshaws' website was praised for its access-ibility for visually impaired people, although it was pipped to the post for first place. The site is designed to enable blind or partially sighted peo-ple using speech software on their computers to navigate the site easily.
The website, which is at (www.hsbp.co.uk), gives in-formation about the charity's wide range of services as well as details of how people can offer their support through fundraising and volunteering.
