Dave Adams, who runs three separate classes a week, performed the grading in Manchester, in front of judges from the British Karate Association squad, and passed the tough test with flying colours.
"It's a very high honour and the grading was tough, especially at my age!", said the 48 year old computer engineer (pictured above).
"Every aspect of your skill is tested, and I had to train like mad for it.. I lost a stone in weight in the run up to it, but I'm putting that back on now."
l Anyone wishing to attend classes with Dave can contact 610 1913. All ages and abilities are welcome, "even mums and dads", according to Dave! Classes take place at St Mary's School, Sale on Monday evenings.
A belting performance!
