PROMOTED clubs Moss Vale and Old Alts (formerly Davyhulme Rangers) drew their first games in the Kevan Guiney Newsagents-Premier Div.
Steve Walker scored a hat-trick for Vale in the 3-3 result at Jacksons Boat, who had their own hat-trick specialist in Gavin Salmon.
Gary Fenney (2) and Andy Pearce netted for Old Alts at Portland in a similar scoreline, with Steve Abbot (2) and Peter Rosenbloom replying.
For the second season runnning champions Nelson (Didsbury) opened the season with a 2-2 home draw.
Navigation Vale provided the shock result with Wakefield and Myers on target. Ged Manning and Ged Shiels netted for Nelson.
Lee Berresford and Paul Wadsworth collected two each in Lisbon St Anthonys 6-3 win over visitors Hale Barns United.
Ashton Rangers opened with a 3-1 win over Davyhulme, with Mark Cooper, Rob Davies and John Walker on the scoresheet. Justin Dou notched a consolation for the visitors.
Relegated Trafford Town 4-1 winners at Broadeath Central are looking for a quick return to the Premier Division.

New Waste and Salvage (Alt) Skip Hire-Second Div. teams had mixed results.
Railway Sleepers lost 4-3 in a close match with relegated Partington WMC.
Urmston Town and Partington Athletic gained a point apiece in a 2-2 draw and Church Inn had 6-0 win over Bollington Park, who finished fourth last season, with Anthony Bolton scoring two each for Lee Athletic in the 5-1 win at Redbrook.
M Gauci went one better, with three for Bulls Head in the 4-1 derby win at Dane Road Central.
Wythenshawe Academicals, late starters last season, gained an early three points, winning 3-0 at Bent Brook.
