IF anyone was in any doubt as to how the character of the Hale surrounding area is under threat the latest little planning proposal should dispel such doubt.
Quite bizarrely the planning committee recently decided it was okay for the Hale area to be invaded by what is for all intents and purposes 3/4 storey flats.
The Labour contingent especially felt that this was in keeping with an area surrounded by unobtrusive semi-detached and detached homes.
Not content with that the developer now seeks to erect what appear to be huge illuminated signs to advertise their planning victory and to promote the results of their endeavours to passersby.
I can only presume that the Labour councillors will again be unmoved by our pleas to maintain the character of our area.
Given their previous stance we might also assume that the increased traffic hazard complaint will also fall on deaf ears.
Let them be warned though that come "accident day", in conscience at least, they will have to bear responsibility for their actions and perhaps face a grieving and rightly angry resident.
Or maybe just maybe they are beginning to understand the growing passion that residents are feeling toward the "easy touch" planning committee that is destroying our area one planning application at a time.
Don't miss this or any other opportunity to make your opinion count.
Write to them now!
It's too late when they've given planning permission. (planning application H/ADV/49998).
DW Court, resident in waiting to be overlooked and soon to be illuminated!
