STRETFORD Cricket Club's 1st XIecorded their second double century of the season as they posted a mammoth 242/3 against Bury.
Chris Turner started again with the bat with a disciplined innings of 94*.
Mike Bishop contributed 46, and Neil McCoffog scored 47*.
The unbeaten fourth wicket partnership between Turner and McCoffog reached127 and Dave Leach returned figures of 2/70 for the visitors.
Bury shut up shop relatively early as they realised the target was slightly beyond them.
A fantastic run out instigated from the boundary saw the departure of Mike Brown for 24; other fielding performances came from Guairav Sharma who held two stunning catches and Matt Barrett who kept wicket very well. Ian Thew made a painstacking 50 for Bury and the visitors closed on 150/7, still nearly 100 runs short of the target.
Rick Buckingham took 2/37 while Chris Barlow proved to be far from the weakest link by taking 3/12 in a highly exciting 10 overs spell.
The 2ndXI took 20 points for a change by beating Bury away by seven wickets.
After restricting the home side to 138/9 (Shaw 33, Mather 31, McGraham 26, Jack Casey 2/32, Vinny Walsh 3/31 and Mark Farrell 2/40).
Stretford set about the target in no nonsense fashion.
Opening pair Matthew Jones and Dave Bloor amassed 119 together before the partnership was broken and two further wickets were taken by Nicholson before Stretford romped home.
