RESPONSE to Mr Bayliss - your letter states the Bay Malton is well qualified to do the job of work on King George's pool.
I ask, is it?
We have inspected this pool and find the £50,000 stated to restore this pool, dredging, roads, car park, the banks flood and in need of a complete major repair job. Not just patching up.
The council should be made responsible for the restoration work in this pool, from council funds, the sales of land that they have sold, and not push this responsibility on to any local club.
This is not a case of attacking the Bay Malton or any other club.
I am 68 years old now and born in Altrincham. I have fished this pond when I was 10. I taught my sons to fish without any club help. There I am also a member of three large angling clubs.
This pool also needs modern secure high fencing to stop night fishing and child safety.
King Georges is not a match fishing water it is more for pleasure fishing.
G Griffin, Timperley
