TRAFFORDS youngsters have enjoyed another bumper year for high GCSE grades.
The boroughs schools mirrored the national trend with a record number of pupils achieving passes and top grades.
One of the top performers in South Trafford was Altrincham Grammar School for Girls which came in at number 16 in the national league tables.
More than 99 per cent of pupils achieved A-C grades with a massive 70 per cent scoring top grades A* and A.
Headteacher at the Cavendish Road school, Dana Ross-Wawrzynski was thrilled with the results and said: The school is absolutely delighted with another outstanding set of results which reflect the hard work and commitment of girls and staff.
Altrincham Grammar School for Boys achieved 98 per cent A-C grades - over half being A* or A. They came 59th nationally while Sale Grammar School also finished inside the top 100 schools.
Over 98 per cent of its pupils notched A-C grades, as did those at St. Ambrose College in Hale Barns.
