AT Easter I was helping Trafford Safer Cycluing Scheme to teach children from a local school how to ride safer, but the streets in Sale we have used over the past few years - Montague and Marlborough Roads - have become dangerous due to parked cars and increasing traffic.
So, the six supervisors and 19 children walked to nearby Kelvin Avenue and Baxter Road, which were ideal for the children. But we had been there for only 15 minutes before a narrow-minded neighbour called Trafford Council and complained.
Two others werec pleased to see us there and came out to watch - but because of the complaint we had to leave. Why do people do these things? I do not know where we will go next year. This could even mark the end of cycling classes for children.
