EARLIER this week, the Government announced an investigation into the way garages carry out and overcharge for repairs to cars. This was taken up by the national newspapers, quoting many examples of 'rips-off' experienced by various people.
I, too, could give examples of obvious over-charging and shoddy workmanship by garages locally, but it occurs to me that an alternative way to 'attack' the problem would be to highlight those garages that do a good job.
People would then be able to go to them on the personal recommendation of other car users.
