Brooklands Tap 1 v Jacksons Boat 0
THIS top of the table clash turned out to be a highly entertaining hard fought contest.
A great result for the Tap although the Boat can consider themselves a little unlucky to come out of the game with nothing to show.
The pivotal moment however came very early, Stuart Walker scoring with an unstoppably 30 yd screamer after just one minute.
Jacksons Boat bounced back playing some good football on a difficult surface and Roberts in the Tap goal was at full stretch to tip on to the bar from Mark Hall.
Tap are a strong side however and a quick break needed a great save one on one from Oz Ozmen in the Boat goal to keep them in contention.
The second half saw both teams struggling to gain the upper hand.
First the Tap pushed the Boat backwards using balls down the channels to take advantage of their pacey forward line.
As the half wore on the Boats passing game created opportunity for Bennett and Cooper who both went close, and when Bennett went down to no avail in the penalty area in the final minute the Boats last chance had passed.
This result puts Brooklands Tap and Neston (Didsbury) in pole position for the league title with the Boat having to rely on other results.
