THE ADVENTURES of Bob the cat, who went missing from his Davyhulme home, have come to a happy end, as he has been reunited with his family!
SUM reported last week on the Baxter family who were devastated after they lost their year-old female cat, Bob, and then found out that she had been given to someone else.
Vicky Baxter had placed posters in local newagent windows asking anyone who found Bob to return her to the family as her 4 year-old son Jeremy was pining for her.
When the family received an annonymous phonecall saying that Bob was living somewhere else - Vicky pleaded with the new owners through SUM to return Bob home.
Not long after this plea, Polly - a worker from Flixton Manor Nursing Home - rang the paper to say that Bob had been given to them and was being cared for by the residents.
The home arranged for Vicky and Jeremy to come and pick up their errant pet and Polly said that she had been "spoilt rotten" during her stay with her foster family.
Glad to be reunited, the Baxters took Bob home and thanked SUM for intervening: "It's wonderful to have Bob back and she's obviously been looked after. We're over the moon and just want to thank the Messenger for stepping in" said Vicky.
