The inter-club match, which came about as a result of the re-establishment of the second team this season, was closely fought, but the first team, who now need three points from their final game to secure promotion, never looked like failing.
Alex Christie scored the only goal of the game midway through the first half, with a first time shot past keeper Sharron Miller.
Sharron, who was playing out of position for the second team, performed superbly, and walked away with both the Player's player and Opposition's player awards.
Although the 2nd XI did create chances they were unable to capitalise and the first were able to take control of the game, if not extend their lead.
With the final score staying at 1-0, Janis Dugdale was named as the Player's Player and Vicky Robinson Opposition's Player for the first team.
