I HAVE read that Mr Wilmot thinks he has "One of the Most Efficient Constabularies in the Country" this is in defence of his organisation.
I wonder if I am the only rate payer who disagrees with his statement.
Since new year I have asked for help three times with very disappointing results.
1. Two teenagers breaking into shed with hammer.
I get hit on the hand (bloody) - stopping them I phone 5050 to inform police and wished to see officer as soon as possible.
Four and a half hours later I had a phone call asking if I still needed help.
2. Drunk in my garden breaks garden light.
I follow and see police van coming to me.
I waved it down as they turn into side road and stopped, looked at me still pointing to drunk and drove off.
3. Police van outside my house for over two and a half hours. On looking through bedroom window to see a man acting suspicously I tried to inform the police.
Seeing the same man now at my gate I asked him what he was up to and for my troubles got hit on the head.
I crawled into my house blood coming down my face dialed 999 informed them telling them that a police van was parked over the road.
Later an ambulance arrives from 6 miles away settled me down and as they were taking me to the hospital the police arrived.
If the police cannot help when they are on the door step I would not say they are efficient.
After making a complaint at the GMP at a meeting in Stretford at the end of January, I am still awaiting a reply five weeks later.
The police are not like they use to be.
By the way I am 71 and disabled but I can move faster than them.
