IT WAS interesting to read in SUM the statistics that the council used in justifying the recent moves of the library. It is claimed that the number of new applications for library tickets has increased at Bowfell Road from 640 to 1,453.
When the public were protesting about that closure a petition was signed by the local people and presented to the council.
I recall that it was dismissed off hand by them as having no value as only a small proportion of the signatures had library tickets (I wonder how much that little piece of research cost us?)
I now wonder how many of these new members have used their tickets since they were issued? That would be an interesting fact would it not?
