POLICE stations across Trafford are to open longer hours in a bid to improve the service to the public.
Greater Manchester Police's Trafford Division, along with other divisions across Manchester, have agreed the change after a review of services.
The new times are
Stretford Station and the Manchester Airport desk will be open 24 hours a day.
Urmston, Sale and Altrincham will all be open from 10am-6pm and closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The force says the changes will provide front line access to the public and a place of safety for the more vulnerable members of society at all times.
Superintendent Adrian Leigh, from Stretford Police told SAM: "We want to make sure that we have 24 hour police station cover at some point in Trafford, so the public can rest assured that we are always available. At the other stations such as Altrincham, the opening hours have been set in accordance with other local authority organisations like the health authority."
