A PARTINGTON man has appeared in court in Manchester charged with being involved in a £15 million drug plot.

Handyman Andrew Harris, aged 39, of Hardwick Road, was one of four men charged with smuggling 350 kilos of amphetamine and bush cannabis believed to be from France.

The men were arrested on Good Friday at a cement factory in Newark where customs men seized a lorry containing the cache of drugs alleged to have been destined for the north west.

None of the men made any application for bail and they were remanded in custody until tomorrow (Friday).
