ENTRIES are now startting to flow in for one of Messenger's major competitions of the year.
SAM is looking for a face of the future - offering a chance of fame and fortune for local 'wannabee' models.
Messenger is seeking a 'Messenger Model Girl' and is inviting Trafford's young women aged 16 and over, who think they have what it takes to be a success, to enter the competition co-sponsored by top Manchester agency PHA Models and Casting Management.
It offers the winner a chance to get a glamorous career on the catwalk - or even on the screen - off to a flying start.
The 1999 Model Girl will win a full grooming course at the PHA agency and a photographic session to start a portrait portfolio - together worth more than £250.
The runner-up will be offered a grooming course at half price - but more than that both will know that several SAM previous winners have gone on to make big names for themselves.
So, if you fancy you may have the looks of the next Naomi Campbell or Kate Moss and have a personality to match, then send a recent picture of yourself, preferably full length, to SAM, along with details of your name, age, address and height - and a contact telephone number.
All the pictures entered will go to PHA, where the directors will select a shortlist of about a dozen finalists.
And if you don't have a good photograph, don't despair. Clive Lewis of GCL Photography in Park Road, Sale, is offering to help would-be entrants by taking a portrait photograph free of charge for the SAM competition.
Get your entry in the post today to Model Girl Competition, Messenger Newspapers, Brindley House, 25 Ashton Lane, Sale, M33 6TP.
Call Clive on 973-6156 to book an appointment and he will take your pictures, supply you with an entry form to fill in and even deliver the resulting portrait to SAM for you. It couldn't be simpler.
If you want your photo returned, please enclose a stamped, sae.
