I AM working on a project about war memorials from 1919 to the present and wonder if anyone remembers what happened to the small memorials and lists of names put up at the ends of some streets during and after the First World War - one such was in Chapel Street, Altrincham in 1919. Any information on this or any other aspect of the rememberance ritual which readers can provide will be greatly received.
