HOW extraordinary that residents of Beech Road should readily assume that it falls to someone else to clear up the mess in their own back yard (SAM last week).
How indicative of our society that so many believe they no longer have to accept responsibility for anything.
Their children are at risk, they say. And no matter that the back alley is used exclusively for the their own benefit they want someone else to sort out the problem.
If it is not an adopted footpath the council has no business spending any money on it - let the Beech Road residents take and show responsibility for themselves.
