OLYMPIC cyclist Sir Chris Hoy has joined a campaign to rid the UK of pothole damaged roads.
He said dealing with road maintenance was key to getting more people to cycle.
“A lot of people lack the confidence to ride their bikes in and around urban areas, not just because of the traffic but because of poor road surfaces,“ he said.
Sir Chris was in Manchester last week to help Aggregate Industries launch a campaign for better long term road maintenance.
He said: “If you spot a pothole, get in touch with your local authority or visit www.fillthathole.org.uk.“
