Robina Sheikh, aged 52, from Stretford, has been encouraging Asian women to achieve their potential for over 20 years through arts and cultural activities.
She runs a voluntary group every Friday evening which enables women to take part in activities from rock-climbing to football, as well as raising money for charity by taking part in a number of fun runs.
She said: “I am delighted to be able to participate in such an amazing event.
“To have the torch visit Trafford and our community is a privilege for us all and I look forward to be able to showcase our neighbourhood on the national and global stage.”
