Apprentice candidate Duane Bryan was off to a great start in Wednesday night’s programme after being on the winning team and earning a ‘treat’ from Lord Sugar.
Although he avoided putting himself forward as Project Manager, the Sale drinks entrepreneur and brother of Simon Webbe from boy band Blue, played a key role as part of the boys team in this week's task, which was to start a print business.
The boys, who called themselves ‘Team Phoenix’ targeted tourists with Union Jack t-shirts and teddy bears and London bus bags. Many of their goods, however, had not been printed properly and they were criticised for pricing the bears too highly at £15.
But after reducing their prices and flogging most of their stock, the boys won the task after making a profit of £616.20 versus the girls £214.18.
Duane and the boys were rewarded with canapés and cocktails at their luxury London house.
Bilyana Apostolova, 25, a risk analyst originally from Bulgaria, was the first person this year to be fired.
The second episode of The Apprentice will be on Wednesday on BBC1 at 9pm.
