NHS Trafford’s public health team is encouraging residents to get involved in the Olympic spirit by taking part in the ‘Summer of Wellbeing’.
Inspired by Trafford’s status as an Olympic Games host, the festival of community led events is designed to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing in the area.
Part of the Inspire programme, directly associating the events with the Olympics, the summer of wellbeing aims to get the local community taking up a new physical activity with the five ways to wellbeing in mind; enjoy the moment, hang out with friends, get involved in the games, challenge your brain, and lend a hand.
Taster events are being set up in Sale West, Partington and Lostock to run concurrently with the Olympic Games.
Anyone interested in getting involved in any way can call a special 24-hour helpline on 0333 323 2012.
