THE final contestant with a Trafford connection has been fired from The Apprentice.
Azhar Siddique, who has a business in Stretford, took the infamous black taxi ride out of the BBC show on Wednesday night.
He said he was surprised to be fired by Lord Sugar - after a task that involved his team buying a series of wholesale products and selling them at a profit.
“I have to respect Lord Sugar’s decision and I think Lord Sugar veered towards the fact that Jade - the project manager - said that I was annoying and I think that’s maybe what made him fire me,” he said.
Azhar said Sir Alan, who has a reputation as a tough task mater, is both funny and unpredictable to work with.
“He does do one or two funny jokes but when it comes to business he is literally unpredictable in terms of what decision he makes,” he said.
Azhar said many of the contestants were “fantastic” people on a programme that will see Lord Sugar invest £250,000 of his own money to help the winner turn his or her business dream into reality. Others showed their true colours as soon as they entered the boardroom, he said.
The 33-year-old runs his own business supplying commerical catering and refrigeration equipment to high profile clients like Kensington Palace.
He said people from Trafford should definitely apply to be on The Apprentice if the opportunity arises.
“It’s a fantastic show and a fantastic experience for someone to get involved in. But you’ve got to be able to cope with the positive and the critical aspects of the show,” he said.
