YOUNGSTERS in Year 1 at St Michael's Primary school in Flixton, ran rings around their teacher as they held their very own Olympic Games.
They donned their sports gear, pictured, as they recreated the games.
Teams of children competed in a mini marathon, long jump, javelin, and even an archery contest using beanbags.
The event was held as part of a school topic on the Olympics, which finished with a Greek banquet to commemorate the ancient Olympics. The children enjoyed a special ceremony where wreaths, flowers and medals (which were made by the children) were presented to the winning teams.
Samantha Halsey, year one class teacher, said: "The children have absolutely loved learning about the Olympics and it is also brilliant that on June 25, friends, families and people from the community will be able to come together to celebrate World Sports day at St Michael's, in the form of an Olympic open day ceremony."
